Not counting the fact that Blizz doesn’t want to make loot for specifically one class, if they did have guns that all classes would be able to use, they could do a main hand offhand like casters have. Then, for hunters they could do the talent tree similar to Frost DK dual wield where they can dual wield the one hand weapons via placing points in the reconfigured talent tree. Since they are redoing the talent trees anyways it could be a workaround.
