Remember the days of Everquest when all the sudden a gaggle of skeletons would attack a city? (I know its not really called a gaggle, but what do you really call a large group of walking bone marrow?) Or someone would cry out in zone that an NPC was on a rampage, and inevitably a ton of people would zone in and crash the server just trying to catch a glimpse of the happenings?
Remember when new MMO games would launch, promising great GM events that would fall in line with the story or the lore of the game? I know a few that used it as a selling point to those who played the game.

Topper Can Haz Kitten!
So, what ever happened to GM events? When was the last time you saw Topper McNabb go on a rampage and slaughter people’s kittens in Stormwind, all because somebody wouldn’t give him a hamburger? Or maybe Brandon, Justin, and Roman give up fishing in the canals for a day, form a boy band, and have dance-offs against gnomes in the auction house?
Yes, we get server wide events, like the zombie plague and all of the other achievement laden holidays. But it seems like the GMs never get to have a little fun with the NPCs of the game, much less interact with players.
So here is my two cents: (because really, I know Blizzard is actually listening,) I propose they take a small team of say, 4 people, and just let them do random events all day long on the various servers. I’m sure they would maybe only hit your server once or twice a month, but it would add a little excitement to the game. Better yet, pay me in beer and I will wreak havoc until I pass out.
In all seriousness though, wouldn’t such random GM events bring more to the game? Perhaps they would create a bit more excitement on the servers. If they adhered to the lore of Azeroth and are, dare I say, roleplayed out, they could really be a hit. These events leave lasting impressions, as many of the moments people remember from other games often include strange GM events. Yes, I’m timewarping a bit, but in the past you would see people talk for hours in the chat channels about what transpired. These things had positive effects on the game and its players. Now get with it Blizzard, and start me a bar tab.

I would love to see this kind of thing happen. It would be even more interesting if it would be a case where multiple GMs could organize to carry out an event. Perhaps Sylvanas wants to have a chat w/ Varian, or a couple of “commoners” want to chat with Thrall.
It would make the game more interesting to play all around, because it would add a more dynamic aspect to the game, as opposed to the same thing over and over again.
Seven,
That is a really cool idea. I think it would bring some interest back to the game. I hope, “..Blizzard is actually listening.”
